Redefining the Tropical Dream

A month ago I was living in my dream bungalow by the beach, my soul was full of sunshine and my bed was always sandy. I had a hot shower all to myself, cold smoothies on tap, wifi on demand and just about everything my yogi heart desired.

A month ago, when I chose not to wear shoes, wash my hair or turn on the air conditioning, it felt like a novelty, a treat, a privilege. Now, it's a permanent lifestyle.

So here's the big why. Why did I choose to uproot my magical life and move to a country where my clothes feel perpetually damp (and smell accordingly) and my soul is covered in sweat and dirt and mud and uncertainty?
